Do you? I had a friend who did this every time she sat down for a meal (or even before she had a cup of coffee), and as much as I can appreciate the “why” behind it, I just can’t be bothered… Granted, sometimes I wonder know how much MAC Russian Red I’ve consumed along with all those spoonfuls of Nutella…but still, old habits are hard to break. I just read this post in Gizmodo: Your cat can grasp some basic laws of physics Well, I’m not surprised, we already knew they excel on several areas of classical mechanics (Newton’s laws, conservation laws, gravity and equilibrium), but this study goes beyond: There’s no ball without noise: cats’ prediction of an object from noise We used an expectancy violation procedure to ask whether cats could use a causal rule to infer the presence of an unseen object on hearing the noise it made inside a container and predict its appearance when the container was turned over. We presented cats...
